Mai Chau is located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh. From the top of Cun Mountain, one can admire the superb panorama of Mai Chau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses.

The valley between Hoa Binh and Mai Chau is notable for being an unspoiled and picturesque scene of rice fields and jagged mountains. It bears the distinction of being the nearest place to Hanoi where one can spend time with ethnic minority people named the White Thai Tribe. Neighboring Mai Chau is a village called Ban Lac where villagers open their houses to travelers for rustic overnight stays and often delight their guests with songs and dances for which they are widely renowned. Guests are invited to relax and enjoy the night whilst sipping from long straws on a traditional alcoholic beverage called “Ruou Can”.

Mai Chau
Van Phuc is not only famous for its sericulture and weaving but also is proud of its patriotism, industry and creation since its foundation. Silk weaving craft in Van Phuc was started 1,000 years ago (from the beginning of XI century)
