A ceremony to announce Pac Bo as a special national relic site was held in CaoBang Province on October 6th.

Also on this occasion, the province opened a tourist program, “Travel through Northern Viet heritage sites”, and made public a decision that Cao Bang town officially becomes a city ofCao Bang Province.

In the history of national construction and protection, Cao Bang was considered an important and strategic area along the northern border. This area closely attached to the national war against foreign invaders. Having been abroad for 30 years to find the way for national salvation, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc chose Pac Bo a revolutionary base. From this base, the revolutionary flame spread across Vietnam in contribution to the success of the great August Revolution in 1945, resulting in the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

For over 60 years now since the liberation day, Cao Bang Province’s party committee and ethnic minority people have united in taking challenges to obtain important achievements, including yearly economic growth rate of more than 11 per cent, improved living standards, stable security and political situation and consolidated great national unity bloc.

Addressing the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant-General Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security, stressed that Cao Bang should continue to preserve and develop Pac Bo special national relic site to educate the revolutionary tradition among Vietnamese people.

Moreover, the party committee, authorities and people in Cao Bang Provinceshould push up the movement “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” and build Cao Bang city as a more beautiful and richer one as well as defend a peaceful, friendly and developing border.
