DAYS 1-2: PHNOM PENH
On arrival in Phnom Penh, transfer to your hotel. Start with an exciting cyclo ride through the streets of this engaging city followed by a visit to the Central Market. Marvel at the silver-lined floor of the Silver Pagoda and admire the stately grounds of the Royal Palace, then gain an insight into absorbing Khmer history at the National Museum. Reflect on the contrasting Khmer Rouge legacy on a visit to Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields. At the ChildSafe Centre, learn about the plight of local street children and what you can do to help. Free time affords the opportunity to sip a sunset drink at the legendary Foreign Correspondent’s Club.

DAY 3: KAMPONG THOM
Relax on the scenic journey through the lovely Cambodian countryside, passing farmers driving oxen and discover a silver village. Stop at a local market and brave the fried spiders, then learn about the ancient art of silk weaving at a local silk farm. Enjoy the tranquil charms of riverside Kampong Thom and the nearby ruins of Sambour Prei Kuk, which date back to pre-Angkorian times.

DAYS 4-6: SIEM REAP
Glide across a remote section of Tonle Sap Lake on a delightful boat trip. Rise in the predawn hours and creep through the jungle, lit only by torchlight, to witness the sun’s first rays lighting up the iconic spires of Angkor Wat, a monumental experience. Receive a blessing from a monk, and then venture off the tourist trail to remote Boeng Mealea and wander amongst the ruins of the atmospheric, tree-covered Ta Prohm.

DAYS 7-8: BANGKOK
Fly to Bangkok and begin your Thailand adventure with a tour of the city travelling by skytrain and boat, giving you an authentic view on this bustling city. Escape the busy city streets at the Grand Palace and peaceful Wat Pho, cruise the Chao Phraya River on a traditional longtail boat and explore the Thonburi khlongs and the impressive National Museum, then enjoy free time for shopping.

DAYS 9-10: RIVER KWAI & KANCHANABURI
Set sail for our home in the jungle, unique thatched-roofed accommodation in the jungle by the banks of the River Kwai. Discover some of the rich and turbulent history of the region, as you head to Hellfire Pass and the Bridge over the River Kwai.

DAYS 11-13: AYUTHAYA & SUKHOTHAI
Travel east to Ayuthaya and stop en route at what was once the Royal summer residence. Destroyed by invaders, the city is filled with impressive ruins, including Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat. Visit the former Khmer outpost of Lopburi and the fascinating Folk Museum in Phitsanulok before arriving in Sukhothai, considered the birthplace of Thai culture, which can be explored by bicycle if you choose.

DAYS 14-16: CHIANG MAI
Walk through the Old City and then absorb the stunning views from the hilltop Doi Suthep temple. An enchanting opportunity to learn more about Buddhism, meet one of the local monks for a chat before an interactive cooking class reveals the regions enticing cuisine. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
